Krystal International Vacation Club knows that one of the most exciting places to vacation to is a country that you have never visited before. The experience of being in a new place, along with enjoying the culture in the area, is a once in a lifetime chance that some never get to have in life. That being said, there are some things that can somewhat stressful. Language barriers can lead to confusing directions, and the last thing anyone needs is wasting their limited time during a visit. Here are some of our best tips to help navigate a foreign city.
- Try to determine an activity itinerary before you even land in a country, and bring along printed directions or maps to help find your way around the area. Doing this beforehand will help eliminate room for error, and also allows you to get advice from people who know best: those who have visited the country before.
- Learning simple phrases, like greetings, directional phrases, and more might just be a lifesaver. Or at least bring along one of those handy English-to-whichever language dictionaries to use in case you get lost and need to ask for help.
- To continue using Google Maps while you are offline, type “OK MAPS,” and the visible area will for future reference and offline access. Also be sure to talk to your cell phone provider in order to ensure you have service wherever you will be visiting.
